VRTV is a virtual studio setting that allows Audio Visual students to practice as a team. They can learn to collaborate and make the right shots when using multiple cameras. ImproVive created a multiplayer virtual environment where students can join either in a VR mode or a PC mode. The PC players can control multiple camera’s and lights and make the recordings. Using a VR headset students can set up the virtual studio space to position tables, props, camera’s and lights. They can also act as presenter or do an interview.
Students do not need to be in the same space, they can collaborate through an internet connection, making it possible to use it as a telepresence tool. For schools the virtual studio allows for more learning opportunities for students as they don’t rely on the availability of a physical studio. The virtual environment also allows to create more complex outdoor setups that could otherwise be difficult to practice. Furthermore there is no investment in studio hardware that can break or get outdated.
