From 23 to 25 June, ImproVive will be present at Immersive Tech Week 2026 at the Katoenhuis in Rotterdam.
During this international event for XR, immersive experiences and digital culture, we will share more about our project for National Monument Kamp Amersfoort. For this project, ImproVive developed an interactive AI installation that allows young people to talk to virtual characters based on real stories, testimonies and historical sources from and about the camp.
Roger ter Heide will speak about this during the session “From Archives to Impact: Unlocking Cultural Heritage in the Immersive Age” on Wednesday 24 June. The session is hosted by Tanja Zuijderwijk and explores how archives, heritage and immersive technology can come together to create new forms of audience interaction.
Engaging young people with heritage through AI and virtual humans
For National Monument Kamp Amersfoort, we combine AI storytelling, virtual humans and video material from the archive to make history more accessible and personal for teenagers and young adults.
Visitors can ask their own questions and discover what happened at Kamp Amersfoort, what choices people had to make, and how themes such as power, obedience, responsibility and the grey area between right and wrong played a role in daily life in and around the camp.
Also at Immersive Tech Week: Rise of the Rainbow by DROPSTUFF MEDIA, a Mixed Reality theatre experience for which ImproVive realised the XR implementation.
