The Smart Mobility Challenge 2017 focuses on bringing clients and suppliers together for finding smart mobility solutions. Preliminary relevant issues were collected around actual problems from parties such as Veilig Verkeer Nederland, Centraal Beheer, Utrecht Science Park, Gemeente Hilversum and Gemeente Woerden. As a result, the challenge goes beyond a simple competition, even though there were 2 winners of 40,000 euros each.
ImproVive organized the challenge in collaboration with Envolve. ImproVive also advised parties on the possible questions and supervised the registration and judging process.
The challenge submissions closed on the 30 June 2017, with 26 solutions entered. 5 nominees were announced in September and on the 12th of October 2017, the two winners were announced:
- Schwung: provide cyclists with reduced waiting times at traffic lights and get insight in bicycle parking.
- Buurauto+: car sharing for elderly people, using volunteers as drivers.
